Community Development Division (CDD)

The Community Development Division helps Montana communities offer safe, efficient, and quality public facilities, including streets, water and sewer services, and schools; affordable and attractive housing and neighborhoods; excellent health care facilities and social services; a vibrant economy; and job opportunities.

The Community Development Division has financial and technical assistance for planning, financing, and constructing public facilities and school facilities; providing decent and affordable housing for low and moderate income familities and renewing and improving neighborhoods; community land use planning assistance; and dealing with community impacts from coal or hard rock mining and related development.

Housing Division | Montana Board of Housing

The Housing Division helps create affordable housing opportunities for Montanans whose needs are not met by the market by partnering with local housing organizations across the state to leverage the federal funding that is made available to Montana. The Division offers financial and technical resources to encourage and enable development of affordable housing, to educate first-time homebuyers, to ensure Montanans have access to an affordable 30-year fixed rate mortgage when they are ready to purchase a home, to offer rental assistance to those who need it, and to assist the public and the support agencies in locating affordable housing for those in need of it.

Business Resources Division (BRD)

The Business Resources Division is comprised of a variety of programs aimed at improving, enhancing, and diversifying Montana's economic and business climate. Working closely with the private sector, the Governor's Office, the Legislature, economic and community development partners, other department divisions, state agencies, and federal and private programs, the Division strives to enhance the economic base of Montana through business creation, expansion and retention efforts.

Montana Office of Tourism (MTOT)

The Montana Office of Tourism is the statewide tourism development and promotion program. The Office serves the people of Montana with programs designed to develop and promote Montana as an attractive destination for visitors from around the world and works with statewide partners to create a tourism industry that provides positive benefits for Montana's economy, its communities, and its people.

Montana Film Office (MFO)

The Montana Film Office, established in 1974 as a central information source for on-location filmmakers, is committed to serving the producting industry and the citizens of Montana. The primary role of the Montana Film Office is to promote the state of Montana as a filming locatio to film, television and print industries and invite these productions into Montana for the overall economic benefit of the state; assist producers to find locations that fit their script as well as act as their liaison through every phase of production; and nurture and support the development of Montana's resident crew base and resident filmmakers.

Montana Board of Investments

The Montana Board of Investments administers the Unified Investment Program, several loan programs, and programs under the Municipal Finance Consolidation Act, primarily through the INTERCAP Program. The Board is comprised of nine voting members appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the state Senate.

Montana Facility Finance Authority

The Montana Facility Finance Authority is the primary issuer of municipal bonds for Montana's health care organizations, continuing care residential programs and community service providers.

Montana Board of Horse Racing

The Board of Horse Racing is responsible for regulating the live and simulcast horse racing industry, ensuring compliance by approximately 1,500 licensees with state laws and board rules, licensing all racing personnel, establishing race dates for various communities, and establishing veterinary practices and standards in connection with horse racing meets, and auditing, supervising and conducting investigations related to the pari-mutuel racing system in Montana.
