Miles Community College to Repurpose Armory Building, Continue Certification Programs

On May 6, Lt. Governor Mike Cooney visited the former National Guard Armory in Miles City, where Miles Community College is using grants from the Department of Commerce to purchase and rehabilitate the building so it may continue offering its CDL and heavy equipment certification programs.

Awards at the Governor's Conference on Tourism

The best of the best in Montana¹s tourism industry were honored at the 2016 Montana Tourism Awards Banquet as part of the annual Governor¹s Conference on Tourism held in Kalispell April 10-12. A record 500 conference attendees packed the ballroom at the Kalispell Hilton Garden Inn for the Academy Awards-style event honoring twenty nominees and five winners with great fanfare including a media presentation produced by the Montana Office of Tourism and Business Development. Special guest Montana Lieutenant Governor Mike Cooney attended the event to present awards and congratulate the winners, including Central Montana Tourism for Outstanding Grant Project, Livingston for Outstanding Film Community, Big Sky CVB for Outstanding Tourism Campaign, Red Lodge CVB for Gateway Community of the Year, Cycle Greater Yellowstone for Event of the Year and Jan Metzmaker for Tourism Ambassador.
