New online hub features 'Montana's Ultimate Road Trips'

There’s nothing like a road trip and nowhere better to take one than Montana. That’s the message the Department of Commerce is spreading to potential travelers worldwide through a partnership with National Geographic Travel.
 
“Montana’s Ultimate Road Trips,” a new online hub at the National Geographic Travel website, highlights eight routes representing every region of the state. Using the reach of the National Geographic brand, the Department of Commerce seeks to maximize the economic impact of tourism by encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore more of the state.

Hillview Apartments in Havre Celebrates Grand Opening

Governor Steve Bullock and the Department of Commerce Housing Division join celebration

Governor Steve Bullock received cheers from the children who live at Hillview Apartments as he cut the ribbon to celebrate the Grand Opening on October 7th, 2015. 

HillviewApartments, originally constructed in 1969, had begun to show the wear and tear of its 46 years of service.  GMD Development, LLC and Homeword, Inc. received $6,250,000 in financing from the Montana Board of Housing in 2013, to acquire and rehabilitate the 52 apartments in Havre.  In addition, the Human Resource Development Council, HRDC4, was invited to provide a Head Start school on site.  The work was recently finished and the community was invited to tour the updated and improved property.

Governor Bullock, Director O'Leary Announce Recipients of Tourism Grants Awarded Under New Program

Governor Steve Bullock and Montana Department of Commerce Director Meg O’Leary announced the first round of tourism grants under a new program it launched July 1, 2015. Awarded funds totaling $718,053 will support 12 projects designed to develop and enhance Montana’s nearly $4-billion tourism industry.

Governor Bullock and Director O'Leary Announce Grants to Support Film Production in Montana

HELENA – Governor Steve Bullock and Montana Department of Commerce Director Meg O’Leary today announced the award of $281,519 in Big Sky Film grants to support the production of 21 new film and multimedia projects taking place in Montana.
 
“There are so many talented media makers doing business and creating valuable content in Montana,” said Bullock. “They are part of a growing industry that impacts many Montana communities and I am glad we can support these efforts that showcase all our state has to offer.”
