Community Assistance Programs

*CLOSED* Local Government Reimbursement Program
Reimbursement is available to local governments as part of the CARES Act and the Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) grant program for direct costs associated with COVID-19. Application materials are now available for the fifth and final reimbursement cycle, closing January 22, 2021. This program continues to be administered by the Local Government Services (LGS) Bureau at the Department of Administration, in consultation with the Governor’s Office of Budget and Program Planning and Department of Military Affairs Disaster and Emergency Services Division. Per the COVID-19 reimbursement form, localities must list actual costs incurred related to COVID-19 and provide sufficient documentation to support incurred costs. Reimbursement requests must be certified and signed by a member of the local governing body.

*CLOSED* Montana Arts Council CARES Individuals provides up to $2,500 to creative industry professionals impacted by COVID-19. Apply by 9/21/2020. Guidelines and more information at art.mt.gov. 

*CLOSED* Montana Arts Council CARES Recovery accepts reimbursement requests for up to $1,000 related to canceled and postpones cultural events. This grant is open to artists and eligible non-profits that offer public arts programming, including Tribes and municipalities. Apply by 9/21/2020. Guidelines and more information at art.mt.gov.

Montana Department of Transportation, Transit
MDT administers federal and state capital and operating grants to help qualified organizations provide transportation to the rural general public, including seniors and individuals living with a disability.

Montana Department of Transportation, Emergency Medical Services Grant Program
MDT awards grants to emergency medical service providers for purchasing or leasing of ambulances; emergency response vehicles; or equipment for training, communication or for providing medical care to a patient.

Montana Department of Natural Resources, RRG Private Grants
Grants for renewable resource benefit through restoration or recovery. Numerous public facility projects including drinking water, wastewater and solid waste development and improvement projects have received funding through this program. Other renewable resource projects that have been funded include irrigation rehabilitation, dam repair, soil and water conservation and forest enhancement.
