*NEW* Funding for Schools Allocation Program
Funding for schools is available as part of the CARES Act to assist schools as they reopen this fall. On July 15, Governor Bullock announced $75 million to schools for the purposes of reopening schools this fall. $10 million will be set aside to assist schools with incremental transportation costs. The $65 million will be distributed on a per ANB basis to 155,294 budgeted ANB. This is approximately $418.50 per budged ANB. This application is open on July 24 and closes on August 14. There are two funding allocations on August 7 and August 21. This program will be administered by the Department of Administration, in consultation with the Governor’s Office of Budget and Program Planning. Per the Allocation Guidance, schools must use this funding for expenses specifically related to adjusting, adapting, and providing accommodations for students, parents, educators, and schools and their learning environment due to the needs generated by COVID 19. Governor Bullock has allocated additional funding for accredited private schools. Funding availability and deadlines are the same.
