U.S. Census Bureau to Increase Field Wages for Montana Workers in December

Beginning December 1, the U.S. Census Bureau will increase Census field workers’ pay rates across the country. In Montana, the wages will increase to a starting rate of $17 per hour for enumerators and $19.50 for those working in Cascade, Gallatin, Lewis and Clark, Missoula and Yellowstone Counties.

Commerce’s Tourism Grant Program Accepting Applications

The Montana Department of Commerce is currently accepting applications for its Tourism Grant Program. Up to $750,000 will be awarded to projects that strengthen Montana’s economy through the development and enhancement of the State’s tourism and recreation industry.

The Delivering Local Assistance Program will award grants to local governments and schools to address needed facility and community infrastructure investments.

One hundred years after the Montana Legislature passed a law requiring women be paid the same wage for doing the same job as a man, Governor Steve Bullock today at an Equal Pay Day celebration, alongside the Equal Pay for Equal Work Task Force and Montana legislators, renewed calls to continue that forward-thinking and close the wage gap.
