Become a Participating Lender
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Montana Board of Housing-approved participating lender. MBOH loans are an important tool for first-time homebuyers in Montana.
The first step in the application process for a potential participating lender is to gather the materials listed on the Required Information for Application to Become an Approved Lender/Servicer form and submit them to MBOH along with the signed Lender Application for staff review.
Contact us for more information on how to apply.
Upon staff’s satisfaction that the information is complete, and the applicant meets the requirements of the MBOH, the request is submitted to the board for action at a regularly-scheduled meeting. The board expects the applicant to attend this board meeting either in person, by webinar or by phone.
The board reviews and discusses the information provided by staff and decides whether to approve the applicant as a lender.
Participating Lender Renewal
An Invitation to Participate is sent annually to each lender currently participating in MBOH programs. Lenders wishing to continue their participation must submit a complete Renewal Application Checklist for Participating Lenders application package.
Contact us for more information on how to submit your renewal application package.
Once the lender completes the entire renewal application process and has been approved, they will receive a Notice of Acceptance.
Lenders whose packages have not been approved by a predetermined date will no longer be able to reserve loans after that date until the full application has been received and approved.
