First Quarter Employee Spotlight: Amanda Wilkey
Congratulations to our first quarter employee spotlight, Amanda Wilkey, tourism promotion liaison with the Montana Department of Commerce’s Destination MT Division. The employee spotlight recognizes members of the Commerce team for their dedication, hard work and commitment to the agency’s mission. Amanda was chosen for her support of the Tourism Advisory Council, the Made in Montana Trade Show and communication with the Marketing and Communications team.
Before taking up her position at Commerce, Amanda spent eight years as communications manager for the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in Helena. She is a professional photographer with degrees in photography and early childhood development. Appreciation for the community aspect of the workplace fuels her creativity, and she seeks balance through time spent in the garden and exploring Montana forests and waterways.
Amanda is described by her colleagues as a jack-of-all-trades within the Destination MT Division. She has assisted with Tourism Advisory Council meetings, getting them scheduled and set up and taking meeting minutes while the TAC position has been vacant. As the communications liaison, she coordinates with the team on newsletters, presentations, press releases and grant information that is submitted to MarComms, ensuring all content is written to Commerce’s brand standards. She has developed a very positive relationship with the MarComms team in this role. Amanda also helped plan and execute the Made in Montana Trade Show that took place on March 14 in Helena. She’s always willing to step up and support team members, all with a smile and her signature laugh.
Congratulations, Amanda, and thank you for all you do!
