Congratulations to our fourth quarter employee spotlight, Chris Ryan, Revolving Loan Program specialist with the Montana Department of Commerce’s Business MT Division. The employee spotlight recognizes members of the Commerce team for their dedication, hard work and commitment to the agency’s mission. Chris was chosen for her support of the Wood Products Revolving Loan Fund and the Native American Collateral Support Program.

Chris’ career started in 2021 at Farmers State Bank in Helena, where she worked as a teller, vault teller and customer service representative. She enjoyed working with and helping customers with their financial needs and questions. Chris came to Commerce in 2022 to work in Housing Servicing, where she dealt with homeowners’ insurance, took phone payments and helped borrowers with questions regarding their home loans. When the Revolving Loan Program specialist position opened up, Chris felt that she could help people in the wood products industry get their businesses back to where they were profitable. Her husband comes from a logging family and has been logging all of his life. Chris uses what she knows about the industry to help businesses succeed in today’s distressed climate.

Chris pours her heart into every program she supports. Since her involvement, participation in Commerce’s Wood Products Revolving Loan and Native American Collateral Support programs has noticeably increased. She has strengthened relationships with stakeholders, bringing new energy and momentum that translates into more applications and more funding reaching eligible businesses. Thanks to Chris, these programs are gaining popularity, and Commerce is fortunate to have her.

Congratulations, Chris, and thank you for all you do!
