Introducing Director Bertoglio

It has been a great honor to serve as the director of the Montana Department of Commerce and to have the opportunity to serve my fellow Montanans alongside the great talent at Commerce to further grow Montana’s economy. Since accepting the appointment to this position in June, I have met with countless individuals and organizations who are steadfast in their commitment to improving Montana’s economy and the wellbeing of their fellow Montanans. I’ve learned that it’s a team effort and there are many stakeholders launching our state to the frontlines of innovation, technology and housing solutions to position Montana as a national and global leader on so many fronts.
I am a native of Deer Lodge and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1991. I served in the U.S. Air Force until returning to Montana in 2007. I am a business owner, running a boutique real estate firm based in Helena with satellite locations across the state. I had the privilege of representing Jefferson County for three legislative sessions as a member of the Montana State House of Representatives, where I learned a lot about the challenges and opportunities facing our state. I’m now in a position where I am working to solve many of those challenges and realize those opportunities every day as director at Commerce.
I welcome your outreach to me and my team at Commerce. We are tirelessly working to share Montana’s great story with businesses who are looking for a new opportunity to expand and create good-paying jobs for Montanans. Whether it’s working with your legislative, county or municipal officials or your local economic development organizations, I look forward to learning more about every community across our state and to understand how Commerce and our services can better support you.
