The University of Montana is seeking 10 actors to portray clients in a graduate-level Couples and Family Therapy course. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the training of future therapists while engaging in meaningful, improvisational character work.
Role Description:
Actors will portray individuals in simulated couples or family therapy sessions. You will receive a basic character outline and have the creative freedom to develop your character over time. Actors will be paired to create realistic couples or family dynamics in a supportive educational setting.
Dates: March 26, April 2, April 16 and April 23 (9:15-11:50 a.m.)
Location: Curry Health Center - University of Montana

Compensation:
- $150 total per actor (for all four sessions)
Seeking:
- Availability for all four session dates
- Comfort with improvisation and staying in character
- Ability to portray emotional and relational dynamics authentically
- Acting experience is welcome but not required

Growth Rings is a narrative short film that centers around the relationship between a father and daughter.

Seeking:
Peter (40-55 male, mildly athletic build, full head of hair): A father who has dedicated his life to loving and raising his daughter. After losing his wife, he has neglected his own health.
Mira (16-20 female): Peter’s thoughtful and introspective daughter, finally old enough to begin helping her father make sense of their lives and more importantly, their future.
Grownup Mira (26-30 female): With a child of her own, she navigates her relationship with her aging father, who is her strongest connection left to her deceased mother.
Mom (35-40 female, mildly athletic build): Existing only as memories, Mom is flash of warm light, an infinite embrace, a sense of comfort.

Seeking:
Production company is looking to fill two speaking roles, and up to four extra non-speaking roles for a commercial shoot in Missoula that will take place over two days, dates TBD currently looking at the week of March 30. Speaking roles are dialogue heavy, being able to memorize large amounts of dialogue is a plus.

Lena Kline - Female, mid-30s to mid-40s, a smart scrappy solo attorney.
Devon Prince - Male, early 40s to mid-50s, a high powered partner at a midsize law firm.
Extra(s):
One-two male extra's mid 20s-mid 40s.

The Witness – Any gender, 25+
All the characters except The Witness are part of a local TV news team. The team is reporting on an event that may (or may not) have recently occurred. The play is more absurdist than satirical, imaging perhaps a news report on the setting of the sun, but a sunset that will never be followed by a sunrise.
