Film Fest and Theater Sponsorship Program

The purpose of the Film Fest and Theater Sponsorship Program is to assist Montana communities and advance Montana’s economic and cultural objectives by:

• Promoting rural tourism and dispersal of visitors.
• Developing a skilled, resilient workforce.
• Supporting a professional, year-round film industry.
• Enhancing community partnerships and business development.
• Demonstrating stewardship of public funds through efficient, targeted investments.

Applicants may apply for funding in one of four categories: Film Festival, Film Tour, Film Series or Independent Theater. Award amounts are a minimum of $1,000 up to a maximum of $10,000, except for the category of Independent Theater, which has a maximum award of up to $5,000. This is an annual application cycle for projects occurring within the calendar year Jan. 1 – Dec. 31. Funding is limited.
