The Rural Tourism Asset Grant Program supports one-time, stand-alone projects that create long term tourism improvements in rural communities. TAG provides up to $75,000 to help projects that strengthen rural communities by enhancing visitor experiences with amenities, improving tourism assets and providing economic growth.
The Montana Department of Commerce will be accepting applications for the Rural Tourism Asset Grant from March 2-26, 2026. Application guidelines can be found below under the Resources for Applicants section.
TAG Webinar
To support applicants, the Office of Tourism will host a TAG webinar ahead of the deadline for the 2026 Rural Tourism Asset Grant. The webinar will provide an overview of the TAG Program, including program purpose, application timeline, eligibility requirements, match requirements, statutory review, selection criteria and the application and project timelines. The webinar is intended for communities, organizations and project stakeholders interested in applying for the Rural Tourism Asset Grant. Registration is required.
