Local governments can participate in the Last Best PACE Program by completing the following steps to opt in for access for commercial property owners in their jurisdiction:
- Adopt a Resolution of Intent.
- Hold a public hearing for program feedback.
- Adopt a resolution establishing a C-PACE Program, setting the terms and conditions of the program.
The Last Best PACE Program is administered statewide, so local governments’ responsibilities are minimal. If a local government approves C-PACE and when a C-PACE financing closes, program staff coordinate with local government staff to add the assessment to the tax rolls and establish the process for payments to be remitted to the Last Best PACE Program. Local governments do not approve individual C-PACE projects. The Last Best PACE Program continually supports each party involved. Interested local governments should contact program staff for more information.
